Air Force air shows are valuable community events that increase public awareness and understanding of the armed forces and the mission, policies and programs of the United States Air Force. Military air shows support recruiting by inspiring patriotism and encouraging young men and women to serve in the military. In addition, we at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station like to host air shows as a way to thank the community for their never ending support of the base.

What is NIMAC?
Niagara Military Affairs Council (NIMAC) is a non-profit organization and their mission is to support the continued growth and prosperity of the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station. NIMAC serves as a liaison to promote communication between the base, the community, other local military units, business, and government.

The Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station is the last U.S. Air Force Installation in the State of New York and the largest federal facility in the region. The station is home to the 914th Airlift Wing and the 107th Air Refueling Wing. The Niagara Falls International Airport also houses the 865th Support Hospital and 277th Quartermasters. Strategically located on the Canadian border between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, the base currently accommodates eight C-130 and nine KC-135 aircraft.

In 2005, NIMAC led the charge to rally community support against the Department of Defense recommendation to close the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, collecting over 126,300 letters for the BRAC Commission, the most collected for any base in the nation. Their efforts were rewarded in August 2005, when the BRAC Commission voted to remove the Niagara Falls Air Base from the list of recommended base closures.
